I have had the pleasure of knowing Short ‘N’
Horny on both a professional and personal level for the past five years. I have used their services in my capacity as
an Administrative Assistant with the Faculty of Law at the
I have hired the band to play at Faculty
Conference dinners and every year our Law Student’s Society conducts an Annual
Law Student’s Ball, and for the past three years, they have used Short ‘N’
Horny as the entertainment for the evening.
For the first four years in which I worked for the Faculty, I had never
attend this Ball as musically it was never very good, until 1998 when the
Society started using the services of Short ‘N’ Horny.
Before Short ‘N’ Horny came along, the music
for the Ball was provided by Disc Jockeys or bands of an unsuitable nature for
a Ball. Then in 1998 the Society agreed
that there was a dire need to change the face of the Ball with regards to both
the music and venue. Thus Short ‘N’
Horny were chosen and the new venue for the Ball became the Novotel Northbeach
in
These changes proved to be extremely successful. Never before had a DJ or live band been able
to capture the right mood for the evening.
Short ‘N’ Horny provided such a wide range of music from traditional
jazz during dinner, through to rock and roll and modern music, giving us a
great night of dancing and entertainment.
Which, I might add, left all 300 staff and students raving about the
evening for months after the event. The
band also looked the part, as all members were dress is black tuxedos. Making them a very attractive band to look at
as well.
With regards to satisfying all musical tastes,
it is not easy to find a band that will cater to a wide range of age
groups. The students who attend the Ball
every year are usually aged between 18-24 and they have been amazed by the
versatility of the band. I have also
seen Short ‘N’ Horny play for more mature crowds and they always leave the
audience begging for more.
I would have no hesitation in booking the band
for any function that requires great entertainment. They are perfect for weddings, parties,
balls, festivals, pubs, clubs and even conference dinners. The band members themselves are extremely
reliable, hardworking, friendly and honest and I feel that this band would
enhance any function that they are hired to perform at.
